I AM DELPHINE JELK, PERFUMER AND DIRECTOR OF PERFUME CREATION AT GUERLAIN. MY JOB IS COMPLETELY AN ENGAGEMENT. BEING PERFUMER IS A CREATIVE JOB ; AN INTIMATE ONE. I OFTEN SAY THAT INSPIRATION COMES FROM OUTSIDE, BUT THE CREATION PROCESS IS EXTREMELY INTIMATE AND INTERNAL. I BRING FORWARD ALL MY OLFACTORY MEMORIES, I BRING FORWARD WHAT I AM AS A PERSON; ALL WHILE HONORING THE MAISON GUERLAIN - ITS DISTINCTIVE STYLE AND HERITAGE. I WOULD SAY THAT IT IS A MIX BETWEEN MY INVESTMENT, WHO I AM, AND THE INSPIRATION OF THE HERITAGE OF MAISON GUERLAIN.
I LOVE BARBARA'S CLOTHING. I HAVE A GORGEOUS JACKET THAT I ADORE, IT'S A FUN EXPERIENCE FOR ME BECAUSE I LOVE FASHION AND I COME FROM FASHION IN A SENSE; BEFORE BEING PERFUMER I STUDIED STYLING. IT'S LIKE RECONNECTING WITH FASHION, AND PERFUMERY IS NOT SO FAR FROM IT.
"DELPHINE AND I HAVE A CREATIVE COMPLICITY. INDEED, CREATING FASHION OR CREATING SCENTS IS A BIT OF THE SAME CREATIVE PROCESS."
